Our Services
The first on site meeting is a chance for us to get to know you, to assess your space and to discuss with you your budget, requirements and your expectations.
We will assess how the plot sits in relation to your home, its aspect, light and situation, including existing structures, plants and trees.
Our aim is to understand how you intend to use and access the space in order to deliver a design that will reflect your personality and fulfil your practical needs.
We will take you through the stages of creating your new garden, from surveying the site and how to get the most from your space to an imaginative design and practical year round planting.
Our initial meeting is free of charge and based on this we will propose a design fee to reflect your requirements and our ideas.
Our designs are presented in a selection of plan and 3D images which will reflect your preferred layout and will include structures, materials and stylised planting plans.
Further meetings will ensure that we have fully understood your brief and that we have included all your desired elements along with an understanding of your preferred materials and budget range.
We can change layout and individual detail so that you are happy that we have produced a design that reflects your expectations and works perfectly in the size of your plot.
Up to this point there is no obligation or commitment for you to continue with us, however the design and the drawings are yours to keep and proceed with as you wish.
Only once you are truly satisfied with the design will we proceed to the next stage of costing and providing a quotation.
We execute our construction works directly from your agreed design plans, paying particular attention to boundaries and levels.
Will is on site throughout the build process, managing your project and ensuring that we achieve the highest levels of execution using the best quality materials.
He is skilled in a multitude of trades including landscaping, fencing, decking, carpentry, concreting, paving and turfing. Having spent twenty years in the building trade he is also knowledgeable about managing and directing other trades including block work, brickwork rendering, drainage and plumbing.
Side access to a rear plot is always preferred, however sometimes this is not possible or practical and materials and debris have to be taken through the main property. We will take extreme care to ensure that we minimise any disruption and protect floors and walls as necessary.
We pride ourselves on delivering our finished gardens on budget and on time, with the plot clear of debris, ready for you to start enjoying your new space straight away.
Over the years we have been asked to deliver unusual and stylish fabrications and structures that have required expert craftsmen in a specific field. We will source, negotiate, supply and install structures in a wide range of materials from arbours, pergolas and fireplaces to garden sheds and buildings.
The planting of your garden will be carried out under the direct supervision of Jo who will reflect your preferred choices of style, texture, scent and colour.
Our plants, shrubs and trees are sourced from quality wholesalers and nurseries ensuring healthy pest free specimens.
New flower beds, raised beds and planters will be prepared with fresh, screened, new soil from our trusted suppliers.
New timber raised beds and planters are all lined with damp proof membrane to prevent unsightly leaks and preserve lifespan.
For those whose busy lives mean they are not always around to water their garden we can install irrigation systems and soaker hoses with regulator valves and timers on request.
Lighting a garden will bring it to life after dark and ensure that your outdoor space will be a functional extension of your home, night and day, summer and winter.
We use our own specialist electricians to install garden lights and electrical services so that your new garden is wonderfully enhanced and maximises its original design appeal and functionality. All installations are certified and carried out by qualified electricians.
Thinking about lighting and services in the planning stage will ensure that the hard wiring for a garden can be installed early on and that even if the lighting is scheduled to follow at a later stage there will be no compromise or remodelling of newly installed structures and landscaping surfaces.
A garden is framed by its fencing.
From the basic larch lap, through featheredge, tongue and groove, hit and miss to venetian or hybrid there is a range of fence panels to suit all tastes and budgets.
Our bespoke fencing is either constructed in the featheredge style with arris rail supports and top rails or the venetian style of horizontal slats available in treated softwood or hardwood.
Timber posts are available in 70 mm or 100 mm square edge or slotted styles to accept manufactured panels of varying heights.
Embellishments include trellis, gravel boards and post caps. We are able to offer the painting of your chosen fencing in a comprehensive range of weatherproof colours.
Timber is a wonderfully versatile material that will enhance any garden setting. Whether used to form decking, fencing, seating or to form arbours for plants to train over or larger covered structures such as sheds or gazebos.
Timber decking comes in a range of widths and finishes in either treated softwood or hardwood which we will construct on substantial weatherproofed timber frames.
There are extensive ranges of man made composite boards that will provide maintenance free, long lasting decking solutions.
We can construct bespoke venetian fencing in a range of styles and finishes in either treated softwood or hardwood.
We can build steps and raised beds in sleepers or timber planks that will create interesting levels and zones and overcome plots with sloping terrain.
Constructing seating areas and dining areas under arbours and pergolas for climbing plants to cover over time will create intimate areas for relaxation and entertaining.
Storage solutions can be built in to seating or stand alone for garden tools and seating pads.
Natural stone paving will transform a neglected unused outside area into a practical and functional space that will become the heart of your new garden, perfect for entertaining or just simply relaxing.
In the majority of cases we like to install your new paving on a stable and solid concrete raft, ensuring that it will remain looking as good after 20 years as it did when first laid.
Choices of stone are available to suit all budgets. The size, finish and colour hues will be selected to enhance the overall design and sit in harmony with your home and its surroundings.
Alternatively you can opt to lay paths or patio areas with a vast range of gravel, pebbles or stone chippings.
Gravel works wonderfully where there are drainage and run off issues, where there is a desire to introduce a different material or texture or where security may be a consideration. It will often work out considerably cheaper than preparing and laying an area in natural stone.
Gravel stabilising grids are available to enable a gravel area to be every bit as level and stable as any paved area whether for your main garden, pathways or even driveways taking vehicle traffic.
Love them or hate them a lawn is quintessentially English.
A well kept and manicured lawn with a brick mowing strip is a thing of beauty and provides an area to play in and on, to relax in and as a perfect foil to that other great English invention- the herbaceous border.
We will prepare and level your site, install a top dressing of screened top soil and lay a superb quality new turf.
Edging strips in steel, brick or plastic will define and contain your new lawn keeping maintenance to a minimum.
If you do not have the time or inclination to tend a natural lawn then the artificial lawn is now a realistic alternative.
An artificial lawn will not suffer from deluge or drought, will not thin under trees or in shaded areas and will not have to be coaxed back to life after our mild, wet winters.
Make your house guests really question whether it is real or artificial by installing a proper mowing strip around the perimeter and you can have a perfect looking lawn through every season.
We offer a wide range of bespoke garden structures, from wood and metal arbours, arches and pergolas to raised beds constructed in timber boards, sleepers, rendered block work, brickwork and even fireplaces and fire pits.
We install garden sheds or for unusual or irregular spaces we will construct a bespoke shed with the option of a cedar shingle roof.
For when a shed is not a shed.
A garden building can be an office, a play room, a gymnasium, a cinema or just a quiet place to read or catch the setting sun.
Every garden is unique and deserves a focus or point of interest.
Challenge us to imagine and deliver a structure that is unique to you and your garden.
